Getting inspired in Seattle

It’s no secret that I usually spend me weekends exploring the little nooks & crannies of the city since I’m usually at work until way past sunset during the week. Trying to find cool local hangouts is hard when the majority of my friends in Seattle are actually people who also moved to this city less than 3 years ago and don’t go out much.

I was really lucky to have been a follower of Moorea’s blog for the past year, seeing as how she went to school and currently lives in Seattle. I finally bit the bullet and started emailing her to find out fun places to check out in the city. She was so sweet and offered to meet up with me to take me around the Cap Hill area over the weekend! We went to the weekend flea market and to the Blanc pop-up shop.

It was so fun to go to all these cool events that I didn’t even know existed! Not to mention having amazing company and being able to chat freely about design and art all afternoon.

Moorea and me!
I look way too happy… and awkward. I don’t do well with random strangers taking photos. :P

After a full afternoon of seeing the works of local artists and designers, I felt so inspired to create! I basically spent the rest of my weekend hanging out on my couch, snuggled under a blanket, learning to knit with double pointed needles.

A biiiiiig thank you to Moorea for showing me around the city and helping to light a huge fire of creative inspiration! xo

It was so nice to meet you and wander around! I was so excited to stumble upon that pop up shop. SO amazing! I hope they have more pop up shops more often!

  • That’s so cool that you met up with a blogger and she turned out to be awesome- that’s always one of those little fears, that they turn out not at all like the blog haha. Anyways, that looks like such a fun way to spend the weekend, make a new friend & and explore Seattle :)

And knitting with double pointed needles is something I want to learn how to do so badly… although I think I’m a bit intimidated haha

  • Tour guides are a must! Your weekend sounded so wonderful, discovering all the way to creating. I love when I find new inspiration and can pour myself into a new project. It is such a fantastic feeling and I feel as though this is what winters were made for.
