…Because if you don’t, then who will, sweetie.” -Marilyn Monroe

This Marilyn Monroe quote recently showed up on my news feed and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it.
For a few weeks at the beginning of 2012, I thought long and hard about what this blog means to me and if I wanted to continue writing it. My life at the time had become a little more complicated than usual with not a lot of balance between work and personal life. It’s not that I no longer enjoyed writing, but rather I didn’t know if I had outgrown my blog with my changing priorities. I continued to write in my spare time (I’m sure some of you who have been following me for longer noticed that the pace of the entries started to slow down), trying to rekindle the passion that once drove me to queue posts at all sorts of ridiculous hours in the night.
It wasn’t until sometime between April and May that something inside me just clicked. I started to reread old entries, flip through the hundreds of folders of photos taken and blogged, and got a little nostalgic. There’s something about revisiting past adventures, rereading feelings captured during emotional experiences, and laughing at funny photo mishaps that made me realize why I wanted to start blogging in the first place. I love looking back on the memories; the good, bad, and ugly.
Thank you for all following along… If you told me 2 years ago that I would be snapping more photos than I did back then (and trust me, I used to be that friend who was never seen without a camera in hand), getting the opportunity to connect with amazing bloggers, and growing friendships with others who live miles and miles away, I might have chuckled in disbelief. But here I am loving this little corner of the internet more than ever and so thankful for how much this blog has helped me grow in ways that I never knew I could. I’m excited to have rekindled my love for blogging and can’t wait to see what’s in store for this little blog in the years to come!
