Subscription boxes seem to be all the rages these days. There seems to be a box for everything from makeup to nail polishes to fresh produce. I was super excited when Erin
of Eef Ink
told me about her idea for starting a subscription box for all things handmade. Erin and I have known each other for a few years now through our blogs and Etsy so I was super excited when she got in touch!

The idea of Indie Gift Box
is simple: 4 categories for boxes, 5 of each box, and each artist could contribute to as many boxes as they desired. Every month there will be boxes filled by new (or returning) artists. I contributed to the first ever box (released in July 2012) and will be contributing again for the August boxes. Kaelah from little chief honeybee
did a really thorough review of the July box
she received (eep! I was so happy when I saw that she recognized my jewelry!).
The August boxes
go on sale today (act quick because there are only 12 boxes available this month) EDIT: oh my gosh, apparently they sold out in 2 minutes
! There are a handful of my favourite indie businesses contributing to this second wave of the Indie Gift Box. If you’re interested in seeing more from what the first round of boxes were like, Erin put together this great post with a bunch of reviews from the recipients
of the July boxes.
Let me know if any of you get a box! I’d love to hear what you think of the assortment of goodies! :)
