REVIEW: Firmoo glasses

This year seems to be the year for trying and buying glasses online for me. I recently got the chance to try a pair from Firmoo, one of the most wallet-friendly online retailers I’ve ever seen for prescription eye wear. As someone who is budget conscious and believes that glasses are one of the best – if not the best – accessories ever, I can definitely appreciate the opportunity of getting fashion-forward frames without breaking the bank.

Firmoo glasses

I originally selected a larger pair of frames, as I tend to gravitate towards the aesthetics of the over-sized lenses. After placing my order, I received an email back telling me that due to my measurements, the frame originally picked would be too wide on my face. I was surprised to hear this feedback since I owned other frames with similar measurements and never thought that the fit was too big (opinions on style/fit is always subjective). I was rather shocked to be presented with three other suggestions for better suited frames for my face size, as no one has ever really told me, “hey the frames you picked aren’t going to fit your face so well, so why not try from this set instead?” To be honest, I wasn’t totally in love with any of the suggested frames but I decided to try to step outside of the box and try one of them anyway. I ended up with this frame in gold.

A week after placing my order, they arrived in my mailbox. I was pleasantly surprised by style of the glasses. I appreciate that someone took the time to give me feedback on the width because these glasses do fit really well (they don’t slide down my nose like some of my other pairs which are the same time as the original frames I chose).

I’ve been toting these glasses around with me since I got them. I really appreciated that the glasses were shipped in a hard case with a cleaning cloth since I’ve been having a hard time finding my extra cases ever since moving (they’re in a box somewhere).

I know that buying glasses online isn’t for everyone. I’ve only ever purchased glasses from sites that have reasonable return policies because the hardest part about glasses shopping – at least for me – is getting the fit right. It’s so hard to try glasses on in person when buying online since most sites make you commit to the purchase before even trying them on. If you’ve never bought online before and want to try it, Firmoo offers a free pair for first-time buyers where you basically get a free pair for only the cost of shipping. Not bad incentives for trying out their products and services!
