Prepping for the golden years

by thedemuremuse on February 4, 2013

This weekend was awesome for so many reasons: spending Friday night folding a bazillions of origami hearts, making Valentine’s Day cards, watching the entire first season of Netflix’s new series House of Cards, freaaaaaaaaaaaking out when Destiny’s Child reunited for the Superbowl halftime, and realizing that the best weekends are the ones that are spent staying in and vegging out.

I still can’t believe I spent almost 13 hours, all the wee hours in the morning of Saturday and Sunday, starting and finishing a season of a show. Have you guys been watching House of Cards? I’m already getting antsy about the second season. I hope it comes out soon! To justify the addiction to this show, I told myself I’m just prepping for the day I’m a wrinkly old lady and spend hours on end parked in front of the TV flying through seasons of shows in a day. Sitting on the couch with all my (future) cats, of course! haha

Reading “waffle sweater” made me kind of hungry.

And your weekends always sound like so much fun! Oragami and card-making? Beats mine :(

What is House of Cards about? I love finding new series to watch!

I swear I thought these texture of sweaters were called “waffle sweaters”. Now I’m just picturing a sweater made out of Eggos. :P

House of Cards follows the Majority Whip and his plot to shake things up in the White House. I definitely spent the first few episodes sitting next to my laptop so I could wiki the different positions in the govt. The dialog is really witty. It took me about 2-3 episodes to really get into it, but if you have some free time this weekend I highly recommend it!

Let me know if you watch the show so we can talk about it!!! :D
