Fitcode x AG

Ahhh, buying jeans. This is a personal topic that I like to talk about because I struggled for a long time in my teenage years and early 20s to find jeans that fit right. As someone who has a non-ideal proportion combination (hourglass + big hips + cycling thighs + long shins), jeans have been always been a bit of a pain to shop for. Mix all the different combinations of measurements between premium denim brands sizing and trying to buy jeans online and I have a lovely pickle of a problem on my hands!

I posted about Fitcode back in 2015 when Fitcode first launched, and I’m excited to share today’s post in partnership with where the brand has come almost 2 years later!

If you’re not familiar with Fitcode, this company’s mission is to help you find the perfect pair of denim no matter what the brand. By taking a quick fit quiz, you can find out what your “Fitcode” is and how it maps to multiple denim brands. Once you have your Fitcode, you can shop personalized recommendations of styles and sizes in the boutique.

Earlier this month, Fitcode announced their partnership with one of my favourite denim brands, AG, and I’m excited to get to be part of this launch! What this means is that you can now shop across all of AG pieces using your Fitcode to find your next perfectly fitting pair of jeans! All of the outfits in today’s post feature pieces styled from AG’s Spring 2017 collection paired with their latest denim styles. What a treat it was to get to play around in the AG collection!

A huge thank you to the Fitcode team for continuing to be one of my favourite Seattle-based companies to make shopping for jeans online so much easier!

  • What a neat opportunity! And a really awesome venue as well.
I have a similiar issue (big hips, basketball thighs, and I’m 6’1″) – have you ever tried S.Oliver jeans? I don’t know if you can get them in the US (they’re a Danish company & really prevalent in Europe), but their jeans have been a DREAM for me. They go up to 36 length, and they have so many different fits that I’m sure you’d find something as well! (I wear the slim or straight fit and just adore them).

    • Oh whoa… I have never heard of S. Oliver jeans! Will have to look into these. Being 5’9″ is just on the brink of being inconvenient for jean hems, but most companies will offer 32″-24″ stock, which is nice!

Jean shopping is the absolute worst – things never fit me since I’m short :( I will def have to check this out, gorgeous pictures as well!

    • Thank you so much, Emma! Absolutely love the photos I’ve seen of you on the @Fitcode IG so far. The styling with that white top by the bridge is one of my faves!

I may have to check this out. I have a horrible time trying to find jeans that actually fit!

    • It’s great because it’s a tool that helps to find your fit across multiple jean companies. For me, I’m usually a size 27, but there are some brands where i’ll be a 28 or 29, and it would’ve been a much more frustrating experiencing trying to buy these jeans in person vs having the sizing guidance online with Fitcode.

I had never heard of Fitcode, but it sounds amazing! Will definitely check it out!

    • They’re awesome! Through the Fitcode quiz, you get your FItcode, which translates across a handful of denim brands to find the perfect fit. This was super helpful for me, especially when buying through 7FAM or AG, which are my favourite denim brands where the sizes really depend on the style of jeans.

I’ve used Fitcode before and never knew it was a Seattle based company! It helped me find the perfect pair of jeans for my body type. I’m glad you’re loving it as well!

    • It’s awesome! I’ve been really enjoying getting to meet and work more with local companies. So fascinating to see all of the amazing ideas coming out of this city!

  • Oh, I will have to try fitcode. Post-pregancy, I’ve been looking for a really good pair of jeans and having trouble finding a good fit.

    • Fitcode is a totally free service to use! I’m genuinely curious to know if you try it now vs again if your body changes and how the service handles something like this.
